Edward Kvet

Professor of Music and Dean

Before returning to Loyola as dean of the College of Music, Dr. Edward Kvet was the director of the School of Music at Central Michigan University. Prior to his appointment at CMU in 1990, he served Loyola's College of Music as coordinator of music education and associate dean. He has also taught at the University of Cincinnati, Edgecliff College in Ohio, and in the Wyoming and Finneytown public school districts in Ohio. Kvet is past-president of the Michigan Music Educators Association. He has presented numerous workshops and clinic sessions for school districts and state and national music associations, including the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) and the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). He is the author of numerous publications, including Instructional Literature for Middle-Level Bands, Strategies for Teaching Beginning and Intermediate Band, and Strategies for Teaching High School Band. He has been with the College of Music faculty since 1998.
