
Edward McClellan

Edward R. McClellan is Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Music Education. His degrees are from Duquesne University (BSME and MME) and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (PhD). McClellan has twenty years of experience teaching music from the elementary to college levels in Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. His public school experience includes fulfilling responsibilities as Director of Bands, Director of Orchestra, Music Director, and Chairman of Fine Arts. McClellan has been active as a researcher, clinician, guest conductor, and adjudicator in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. He has published research in Contributions to Music Education and the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Journal. McClellan’s research interests include pre-service music teacher development, self-efficacy in music, band and orchestra methodologies, and technology in the music classroom. He is a member of the College Music Society, International Association of Jazz Educators, International Society of Music Education, Music Educators National Conference, and National Band Association.
