College of Music
- Fay Wray, a band comprised of current Loyola students, won the Louisiana State University Battle of the Bands. The band, which just recorded its demo in Loyola's studio, was also featured in The Maroon.
- Loyola’s Music Industry Studies program and NOLEye, the College’s newly-formed student video enterprise unit, documented Loyola’s operatic production of The Gondoliers using its new state-of-the-art, multi-camera mobile digital video production studio. The entire performance was available for viewing immediately after the final curtain closed, thanks to video file-capture software, along with a stereo audio mix of the singers and orchestra. Professor of Music Technology John Worthington produced the recording session, which was directed by Professor of Video Technology Jim Gabour.
- Loyola's chapter of Music Educator's National Conference (MENC) has been busy working on community service projects to bring music to school children in the Greater New Orleans area. This semester, the students hosted an "Instrument Petting Zoo" program to introduce children to the instruments of the orchestra and to play for them.
